ISL: Odisha FC Ready To Take On East Bengal

After an exuberant win against Bengaluru FC, Odisha FC is looking to secure back-to-back victories as they take on SC East Bengal tonight. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 pm at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Goa.

In the opening game, Spaniard Javi Hernandez was the star for Odisha FC scoring two goals past Bengaluru FC custodian Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. The midfielder who was signed ahead of the new season was instrumental in breaking the deadlock inside the first five minutes of the game. He also scored a fine free-kick from just outside the box for his second goal.

Odisha FC impressed in defence, while their attackers were clinical in front of goal in the match against Bengaluru FC. Coach Kiko Ramirez has the team ready with no injury concerns ahead of the game. However, there are question marks over the availability of Kamaljit Singh, who had a collision in the last match.

29-year-old defender Victor Mongil, along with his partner Hector Rodas, were pivotal in the club’s solid defensive performance against Bengaluru FC.

“The strategy is to keep being competitive. In the end, we cannot live in the last game that was good. We need to live in the present and think for the future. Our thought is to compete in the best way possible next match,” said Kiko.

Meanwhile, East Bengal will be looking to up their game after a shaky start to their campaign, with a draw and a defeat in their last two games. Croatian winger Antonio Perosevic is the brightest hope for the Kolkata-based side after an impressive performance in the last game.
