Odisha FC Looking For Top Four Spot As They Face NorthEast United FC

Odisha FC is all set to take on NorthEast United FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Goa tonight. The players are itching to get on the pitch as both teams look to close the gap at the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) table.

Making a strong comeback from last season’s poor performance, Odisha FC got off to a flying start with two wins in their first two games. However, their winning streak came to a halt as they lost to Kerala Blasters 1-2 in their last outing.

With six points from three games, Odisha FC is currently placed fifth on the table and could get into the top four with a win.

Coach Kiko Ramirez has expressed his concerns over the fitness of some of his players. The Spaniard is worried that his team might struggle with muscle injuries given the tight schedule.

“For this game, Jonathas De Jesus is improving. He is getting better and he is going to the training sessions. But we need to wait till the last moment to decide if he is going to join the team or not. It was a hard week because more players have muscle injuries, muscle problems,” said Ramirez.

Meanwhile, NorthEast United are currently eighth in the table having played four matches. Star midfielder Federico Gallego has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to an injury he picked up in the match against Chennaiyin last week.
