Two Odisha Jawans Among 20 Galwan Valley Martyrs
As per reports, two soldiers from Odisha have lost their lives in the incident that took place at Galwan Valley on Monday night. A face-off between the Indian and Chinese soldiers resulted in casualties from both camps – with reports saying around 20 Indians and 40 Chinese lost their lives.
Chandrakant Pradhan from Kandhamal and Nanduram Soren from Rairangpur were among the 20 soldiers killed at Ladakh.
“My son was highly sincere towards his duty. He was courageous, simple, and hard working. We got the information about his martyrdom on Tuesday night,” said Karunakar Pradhan, Chandrakant’s father.
“We feel proud that he has laid down his life for the motherland. We received the information about the tragedy at 11 pm on Tuesday. We are waiting for his body, which is expected to reach our village in a day or two,” he added.
Similarly, emotions were palpable at Soren’s village as well.
“We all feel shattered after receiving the message about his martyrdom. Nanduram was an asset for the family as well as the village. He was loved by all for his friendly nature,” said Soren’s elder brother.
