Several Odisha Government Services Go Online

Amidst the COVID pandemic, several departments of the Odisha government are offering their services online mode for better accessibility and convenience. Odisha’s departments of Finance, Odia Language and Culture, Sports and Youth Services, and Science and Technology have all made the transition to the online medium well before the targeted deadline of October 2.

This development came to light during a virtual high-level meet chaired by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy from the Lokseva Bhawan. Undertaking a department-wise review of the deployment of online systems, Tripathy noted that all departments should make use of the “bulk displacement platform” of the state’s Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) to enable Benefit Transfers under various schemes doled by the government. Besides, Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra suggested all departments harness the online payment portal for dues and taxes devised by the Finance Department.

Services like pension and issue of ID cards, alongside other issues, were said to have been successfully exported to an online platform under the Sports and Youth Services wing of the Odisha government. Similarly, the Odia Language, Literature and Culture department has also made notable strides in the efforts towards digitisation of records and services.

The Finance Department has rolled out several public services like online processing of pension applications, online generation of PRAN, tax and dues payments, e-GPF among others. Following the trend, the Science and Technology department has also come up with an online model for ORSAC Map Services.
