Odisha Government To Adopt ‘Single Page Salary Bill’ System

In a bid to save papers, the State Government has decided to adopt a ‘Single Page Salary Bill’ system for its employees, which will save over 15 lakh pages of paper every month, and potentially about 1.8 crore pages and hundreds of hours of manpower per year.

Odisha will be the first state to implement this policy in the entire country. Three major treasuries in Bhubaneswar have taken up this project and have proved to be successful. After the success of these three treasuries, the Government has decided to adopt the system in all 166 treasuries by the end of this year.

Ashok Kumar Meena, Finance Principal Secretary, reviewed the implementation of the system in a meeting, while Sidharth Das, Treasuries and Inspection Joint Director, briefed the attendees about the significant achievement of the new initiative to save papers and manpower in the treasury system. The Finance Department is now in the process of implementing the system for 4.5 lakh employees of the State Government.

The Directorate of Treasuries and Inspection (DTI) will provide training to concerned treasury officers and DDOs. As per reports, the ‘Single Page Salary Bill’ system is part of the State Government’s 5T programme.
