Mobile Eye Care Van ‘Pashyantu’ Launched

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Mobile Eye Diagnostic Van, Pashyantu, which will go around various districts in the state and provide advanced eye care to the people. The eye diagnostic van is an initiative of the renowned LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) along with Odisha Mining.

This unique eye care initiative will come as a relief to the people living in remote areas who travel hundreds of kilometres seeking treatment.

“This is a great initiative by OMC and LV Prasad Eye Institute. It will take eye care to the doorsteps of rural Odisha. It will greatly benefit people of Odisha in general and people in mining districts in particular,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the inauguration of the mobile eye diagnostic van.

‘Pashyantu’ is armed with advanced equipment that can take care of the basic eye care needs of people. The mobile van will make monthly visits to all district-based secondary eye care centres of LVPEI along with specialists. In the first phase, the van will make trips to Rayagada, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Ganjam districts.

Chairman, LVPEI, Gullapalli N Rao lauded the support of all parties involved in promoting universal eye care.
