COVID-19: Odisha to Impose Lockdown in Three Districts
With the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases in Odisha, a few districts have decided to impose a complete lockdown. The districts which have declared lockdown from August 1 for three days are Bhadrak, Nabarangpur, and Bargarh.
In Bhadrak, the lockdown is scheduled to be enforced from 5 am on August 1 to 5 am on August 3. In Nabarangpur, the lockdown will prevail from midnight of August 1 till midnight of August 3. As for Bargarh, the lockdown will also be enforced from Saturday till Monday.
During this lockdown period, the authorities will be taking containment measures like contact tracing, checking for symptoms, isolation of suspected patients, and door to door survey of people.
The respective administrations have restricted the movement of people and vehicles within and outside the district. The entry and exit points have also been closed. Even the shops are to be closed during the shutdown, with an exception given to the medical and essential commodities stores.
Meanwhile, all kinds of government and private institutions are also to be shut. Only the health department and the sectors related to it will be operational in the districts.
Meanwhile, the Malkangiri municipality and the Balimela NAC area have also declared three days lockdown from Friday. The lockdown will be in force till Sunday in Malkangiri.
