Cancer Hospital To Be Established In Bargarh

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday declared that a cancer hospital will be set up at Bargarh district. The BJD chief made this announcement, in addition to launching several other initiatives on his one-day visit to western Odisha

The CM also inaugurated a six-storey building of Bargarh district headquarters hospital, having a capacity of 300 beds, built for Rs 45 crore. Seven other projects amounting to Rs 70 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid for 22 projects worth Rs 60 crore in the district.

Meanwhile, Bijepur got its first private sector bank as Patnaik inaugurated a branch of ICICI Bank. This also marked a landmark 150th branch in the state for one of India’s leading private sector banks.

The CM also visited the Maa Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur to offer his prayers. During this visit, he promised that a team will be assigned to assess the requirements for the temple and pilgrims.

Additionally, he declared that the international tourism potential of Hirakud, one of the world’s longest dams, will be assessed.
