Odisha CM Launches New Projects In Bargarh; Disburses KALIA Money

Present at a mega farmer’s meet in Ichhapali, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a host of projects worth ₹515 crores, with the highlight being the Sohela-Nuapada stretch of Biju Expressway. The Sohela-Nuapada stretch is said to have built at a cost of ₹455.66 crores.

Among the other projects launched are two maternity and child care centres at Padampur Subdivisional hospital and Barpali Community Health Centre (CHC), two piped drinking water supply projects in Atabira and Sohela blocks, three recently-introduced Aahar centres in Atabira, Sohela and Barpali, and a bridge over the Danta river in Bheden block.

Furthermore, foundation stones for 32 development projects, worth more than ₹1495 crores, were laid by the Chief Minister. One of the most notable among these is the Gangadhar Meher Lift Irrigation Project, with an estimated cost of ₹1340.55 crores. Upon completion, this project would provide irrigation to 25,600 hectares of cultivated land in Bijepur, Sohela and Barpali blocks.

Patnaik also took the opportunity to disburse funds to farmers under Odisha’s pioneering KALIA scheme worth Rs. 5000 each, as part of the second phase.
