NHPC Invites Tenders For 40 MW Solar Plant In Odisha

Power generation company National Hydroelectric Power Corporation has opened tender bids for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract of a 40 MW crystalline PV-grid connected solar power project at Landeihil village in the Ganjam district of Odisha. The chosen bidder will be responsible for the upkeep of 132 kV transmission line, and evacuation arrangement along with the plant’s comprehensive operational and maintenance requirements for the next decade.

The 40 MW capacity solar plant is the first among the 100 MW of solar plant projects approved by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and will be set up by the NHPC. Minimal restrictions on the bidder have been imposed to ensure quality control. Bidders should have successfully completed an EPC basis a 32 MW solar plant, or two plants of 20 MW capacity each, or three power projects of 16 MW capacity each.

The project deadline has been set at 9 months from the date of issue of, and the deadline for bid submission is 17th May, 2019.

The NHPC has also undertaken among other projects, the Bundelkhand Saur Urja, which is a joint venture with UPNEDA, and a 10 MW floating solar power project in Kerala.
