Naveen Patnaik Launches Poll Campaign In Odisha
As Odisha gears up for the elections, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has kicked off a poll campaign, “Ghare Ghare Shankha”, (Conch at every house) on the occasion of his father Biju Patnaik’s 103rd birth anniversary. Conch is the party symbol of the Biju Janata Dal.
As part of the campaign, Patnaik urged people to come forth with their grievances and beliefs, assuring them that a few of these demands might be covered in the party’s poll manifesto.
“Put up conch shells at every household and step forward to air your opinions and grievances. The BJD will include some of the demands in their poll manifesto in its attempt to expedite development in the state”
said Patnaik while launching the campaign at Kantilo village in Khurda district.
The BJD officials have assured the people that they would accumulate feedback from all 86 lakh families in the state, which would then be incorporated in the poll manifesto.
Meanwhile, leaders from all political parties paid tribute to former chief minister Biju Patnaik on his birthday. Odisha’s sports and youth affairs department also organised an annual mini-marathon on the occasion, which was attended by a large number of people.
