Odisha’s Aditi Parida tops CDS Exam

Odisha born Aditi Parida has secured the top rank in the prestigious Combined Defence Services (CDS) II, 2019 examination (women), as per the results released recently. Aditi is the first woman from Odisha to top the exam and get selected for the training for Army Officer.

The merit list features a total of 246 candidates, out of whom 174 candidates had cleared the exams for Officers Training Academy, Chennai for Short Service Commission Course (NT) for Men, and 67 candidates had cleared the course from OTA Chennai for Short Service Commission (NT) for Women.

Aditi recently completed her graduation in Mass Communication from Symbiosis College, Pune, and was also the topper of her batch (2017-2020). Apart from being academically bright, she is also a trained dancer and has performed in several Odissi and Bharatnatyam dance events.

The daughter of an Indian Army Brigadier, Aditi also holds the distinction of having secured the first rank in debate amongst Army Schools in 2016. Aditi’s mother Sujata Parida, who hails from Nadhara village of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, said, “My daughter is trained in all aspects of life. She is a good orator, a topper in studies, a classical dance performer, a good sportsperson and above all a person who loves her country. I am proud of her”.
