KIIT-DU to provide Free Education to Children of COVID Deceased in Odisha
The Covid-19 pandemic has severely disrupted and devastated the livelihoods of the people of Odisha. As a gesture, KIIT Deemed to be University has decided to help the families of the deceased. Acting on a proposal by the Founder of KIIT & KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta, KIIT-DU has decided to provide technical and professional education free of cost to the children of the COVID deceased.
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected millions across the globe. In Odisha, the number of new coronavirus infections is increasing each day. In such dreaded times, KIIT-DU, as always, will continue reaching out to the distressed people in the state. The organization has made a name for itself in providing relief and helping out people at the time of their need.
Children of the COVID deceased, who are interested, can apply to different technical and professional courses of KIIT-DU, including ITI and Diploma Engineering, as per their eligibility for admission. This facility will be available for two academic years, 2020-21 and 2021-22 only, informed KIIT authorities. Preference will be given to the children from BPL, SC, ST and SCBC categories.
This move is set to provide relief to the people of Odisha who have been affected by the pandemic. Notably, KIIT-DU becomes the first university to extend such a humanitarian gesture to the families of the COVID deceased.
