CM Inaugurates Motilal Oswal-KISS Residential Tribal School In Balangir

The Motilal Oswal-KISS Residential Tribal School, the Balangir branch of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on 15th February. The ceremony was attended by Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS Foundation, Motilal Oswal, the MD & CEO of Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, Raamadeo Agrawal, Group Chairman of Motilal Oswal, Financial Services Ltd. and Ms Suneeta Agrawal, Chairperson of Motilal Oswal Foundation.

The Chief Minister in his inaugural speech said, “I am delighted to inaugurate the Motilal Oswal-KISS Residential School at Balangir. I hope this school will play a key role in the development of tribal children in a backward region like Balangir. For such an accomplishment, I congratulate Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta and the Managing Director of Oswal Group Shri Motilal Oswal”.

Dr Samanta declared that 2000 tribal students of Balangir will study in this fully free and fully residential model of KISS. After Baripada, this is the second satellite centre that is established by Samanta to promote tribal education. The university is sponsored by Motilal-Oswal Group from Mumbai.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Motilal Oswal said, “There is no greater gift to mankind than education. The society undergoes a sea change through education. Motilal Oswal-KISS Campus has amused me. We can establish such kind of schools for tribal children if we get the right support and cooperation”.

The school is equipped with world-class infrastructure and facilities like green technology, steam-based kitchen, wifi, CCTV, equipped dispensary, smart classrooms, labs and high-quality sports facilities and playground. Earlier this year, Naveen Patnaik had also inaugurated the Adani-KISS campus, established jointly by Samanta and the Adani group in Baripada.
