CBSE Class 10 Result: Bhubaneswar in Top 10 Once Again
The CBSE Class 10 result is out, and once again Bhubaneswar is among the top 10 cities in India as per the pass percentage. The capital city has secured the 7th position with a pass percentage of 93.20%.
With this, Bhubaneswar cements its spot in the top 10 cities in India, having earlier secured the 8th spot as per Class 12 exam results. Notably, the national average pass percentage is 91.46%.
The top position is secured by Trivandrum with 99.28 pass percent, followed by Chennai and Bengaluru with 98.95% and 98.23% respectively. Pune claimed the fourth spot with 98.05%.
Out of approximately 18.7 lakh who appeared for the class 10 exams, 17.13 lakh students have passed. Compared to last year, the pass percentage has increased by 0.36% – from 91.10% last year to 91.46% this year.
This year, about 93.31 percent of girls who appeared have cleared the exam. Meanwhile, among boys, the pass percentage remains the same as 2019 at 90.14 percent. The transgender students saw a huge decline from 94.74 percent pass percentage to 78.95%.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many exams were not conducted. Hence, for the papers which were cancelled, CBSE has awarded marks based on an average of the best three scoring subjects. The students who appeared in three exams, the best two results have been considered. And those who appeared in one or two exams, the internal assessment has also been taken into consideration.
