Odisha Government To Develop Tourist Circuits And Destinations

The Odisha government is planning to develop nine tourist circuits and thirteen destination hotspots across the state to provide a boost to the tourism sector. The decision was made at the Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC), which was chaired by the state Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy.

Tourism Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev said that the locations would be developed as part of new tourism activities. The prominent circuits will consist of the Rambha tourism cluster, Gandhi circuit, Kantilo cluster, Sun City Konark, Samuka Beach, Buddhist circuit, Konark marine drive eco-retreat, Daringbadi, commencing houseboat operations at various places, and hosting surfing festival at Puri and Dak Bungalow trail in Odisha.

The surfing festival, being planned in Puri, will be in collaboration with the Surfing Federation of India. State officials have revealed that talks are ongoing to make the surfing festival an annual event, in a bid to draw more participants from across the world.

Furthermore, the Odisha government will also embark on roadshows throughout the country, and in foreign nations, to attract private sector investment and international tourists. The domestic roadshows are planned to be held in Kochi, Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, whereas internationally, the roadshows will be held in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Bali.
