New Bus Terminus In Baripada Soon
The district administration has begun work on the proposed bus terminus to be constructed at Janardhanpur, on the outskirts of Baripada town. After several years of rigorous search, the administration had chosen Janardhanpur as the ideal spot for the new terminus.
The project, once completed, will ease the increasing traffic woes of Baripada town. While there is an existing bus terminus in the town already, it is running out of space and remains congested on most times. The bus terminus’ proximity to offices like Collectorate, the office of Municipality, DFO and SP poses a major challenge in terms of overcrowding and restricts a smooth movement of vehicles in and around the area.
According to Baripada Sub-Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, official records indicate that at least 5.760 acres of land earmarked for the bus terminus belongs to the government while 1.080 acre is forest land and 0.560-acre land is privately owned.
“We have engaged two JCB machines for clearing obstructions from the site,” Parida added.
