ECoR Launches Special Trains Connecting Puri

The East Coast Railway has decided to introduce three new trains to deal with the perpetually heavy rush on three existing routes: Puri-Amritsar, Puri-Habibganj (Bhopal), and Puri-Bengaluru.

The first of the trains will run on the Puri-Amritsar route on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The train will depart from Puri at 11.35 PM on November 9th, and reach Amritsar at 11.30 PM on November 11th.

In the return journey, it is scheduled to leave Amritsar at 11.45 PM on November 12, and arrive in Puri at 10.30 PM, November 14th. The train will have stoppages in Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Titilagarh, Kantabanji, Khariar Road under the ECoR jurisdiction, apart from other stops along the way.

The Puri Habibganj train will continue operations till the last week of November. It will leave Habibganj at 7.20 AM every Tuesday and will arrive in Puri at 10 AM the next day. Conversely, it will leave Puri at 3 PM every Wednesday, and arrive at Habibganj on 3.25 every Thursday. This train runs through Angul, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda Road, Raigarh, Bilaspur, New Katni, Jabalpur and Itarsi.

The third of the new trains introduced is a Suvidha special train connecting Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru. It will reach Bengaluru in 24 hours, leaving Bhubaneswar at 11.05 PM every Monday between November 4 and 25th, and arriving at its terminating point at 11.55 PM on the following day. In the return direction, this train will depart Bengaluru at 5.40 AM every Wednesday between November 6 and 27th, and reach Bhubaneswar at 7.30 AM on the next day.
