Bookings for Eco Retreat now open, CM Naveen Patnaik declares
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has officially declared that bookings are now open for the three months long Eco Retreat. A new logo was also unveiled by the CM depicting the ecological orientation of the festival.
Owing to the exemplary success and popularity of last year’s Marine Drive Eco Retreat at Konark, this time the event has been up-scaled and will be held at five unique locations – Konark, Hirakud, Bhitarkanika, Daringbadi, and Satkosia. The Eco Retreat will offer tourists an opportunity to discover Odisha’s diverse tourism, with modern facilities.
Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic, the CM said that all stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sector have been provided training on necessary COVID protocols. Patnaik also highlighted Odisha’s excellent management of COVID- 19 pandemic and added that the Eco Retreat will be held in complete compliance with guidelines and standard operating procedures prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Family.
The tourism industry has been heavily affected due to COVID-19 pandemic. Patnaik has placed high hopes that the Eco Retreat will provide a much-needed push to Odisha Tourism and help it revive during these difficult times.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy appreciated Eco Retreat’s model of environmental sustainability, technological leverage, teamwork, and more. He hopes that these will be transformative for each location’s tourism-oriented future.
The Eco Retreat is scheduled to begin from December 8 and go on until February 28, 2021. Online reservations can be made at ecoretreat.odishatourism.gov.in .
