Start-ups To Get Support From HDFC Bank

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department of the Odisha government and HDFC Bank Limited aiming to aid start-ups with smart banking solutions. The deal was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Kharavela Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.

Through this memorandum, projects recognized by Startup Odisha would be able to avail of an array of banking solutions, along with an opportunity to pitch their solutions to requisite stakeholders. Additionally, HDFC Bank will extend incubation and acceleration support to all start-ups banking with them.

As part of the agreement, startup yatras, hackathons, acceleration programs, and start-up conclaves will be conducted to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs. The program will also aim to enable the students of all the 49 Government ITIs of the state to gain life skills.

“Young entrepreneurs are engines of growth for new Odisha. I am sure this MOU between Start-up Odisha and HDFC Bank will open up new possibilities for start-ups”,

said CM Naveen Patnaik. He also expressed his views on the progress of Odisha’s start-up policy and the commitment of the State Government to make Odisha one of the top 3 start-up hubs in the country.

“Odisha is one of the fastest-growing start-up ecosystems in the country and we invite more such partners to collaborate with us in this journey creating a holistic support system for start-ups”,

said MSME Minister Dibyashankar Mishra.

To begin-with, a cheque of Rs 1 Crore was handed over to KIIT TBI, a state-based incubator, by the CM on behalf of HDFC bank. This money would be used to support the start-ups based at KIIT TBI.
