Government Inks Pact with TimesPro for Skilling Odisha
The Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) with TimesPro (SAP Partner), for a digital skilling venture. The pact was inked over a virtual meeting, which was attended by the OSDA CEO-cum-Director Employment Rashmita Panda, Times Professional Learning CEO Anish Srikrishna, SAP COO Rajesh Musaliyath and others.
As part of the agreement, TimesPro has been tasked to train OSDA-nominated teachers from engineering and postgraduate management colleges across Odisha in SAP ERP courses. With the ultimate goal of a Skilled Odisha, these teachers will train the students from their respective colleges in the courses, which would make them eligible for Global SAP Certification.
Such a certification would add merit to their resumes and help them compete for better job opportunities. It will also enable the creation of a talent pool for the IT industry in Odisha. TimesPro will provide two thousand SAP student site licences and certification access.
Delighted with this development, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, said, “I am glad to learn that in these testing times, when the Covid-19 pandemic has raised new challenges to mankind, the skill eco-system of Odisha has taken a giant step forward in innovation for facing the emergent challenges. The partnership with IT giant SAP and TimesPro will enable our engineering students greatly to get trained in SAP ERP courses and will, in turn, create a talent pool for the IT industry. I am confident that these collaborations will lead to more opportunities for our youth at the global level and will make skill aspirational for them.”
Earlier this week, the Odisha government tied up with leading online educative platform, Coursera, to train unskilled workers.
