Mo Bus bags the Top Award in Urban Transport

Mo Bus, the city bus service under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), has won the top award in the country for the second consecutive year. The Award of Excellence was presented by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) at the 13th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference.

The theme for the conference was ‘Innovations undertaken in Urban Transport during COVID-19’. The national jury evaluated various bus companies across the country based on the measures taken by them during this pandemic. The jury conferred the first prize – Award of Excellence – to Capital Region Urban Transport, Odisha.

The Secretary, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Durga Shankar Mishra, gave away the awards. On behalf of CRUT, Arun Bothra, the Managing Director, received the award.

“We are thrilled to receive the UMI award two times in a row”, said Bothra. Thanking the Government of India for this recognition, he went on to say, “This will motivate us to provide better services to the commuters while taking all precautions”.

“The COVID-19 measures taken by the state government are considered one of the best in the country. We are happy that Mo Bus has lived up to the expectation of the Govt. as well as people of the Capital Region and enhanced the reputation of Odisha in terms of COVID management”, added Bothra.

Currently, a total of 109 buses are running on 17 routes with around 26000 passengers each day.
