American Giants Likely To Invest In Odisha: Chief Secretary
Numerous organisations from the USA have conveyed an interest in investing in Odisha. Recently, the prospective investors communicated with Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and other senior authorities of the state under the guidance of Dr. Mukesh Aghi, president and CEO of US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).
Asit Tripathy led the interactive meeting through video conferencing with the officials from USISPF. The investors come from various sectors like agri-business, nutrition, aviation, information technology, metals, and renewable energy. Leading names such as ATC, Avaada Energy, Cairn Energy, Cisco, Exxon Mobil, Herbalife, HP, Mars, Microsoft, Oracle, and Paypal are all in the fray.
Answering the questions of interested investors, the Chief Secretary said, “Many of our industrial estates are now in the green zone. As of now, around 60% of the industries are now running by virtue of adopting COVID preventive measures.” He expressed that the state had followed strategic policy consistency in issues of industrial advancement and is now on the verge of implementing more dynamic guidelines in matters of leasing of land, contract farming, and direct farmer-market connect that will surely open new avenues of investment.
Odisha, which ranks among top-five Indian states in terms of ease of doing business, is the correct choice for investment claims Industries secretary Hemant Sharma. He further adds, “Odisha is a pioneer state in having a stabilised single-window clearance system for investment proposals.”
Electronics and Information Technology secretary Manoj Mishra said, “We have well developed electronic and manufacturing sector just close to the capital city. The state is rich with skilled manpower in electronics and IT.”
